Terms of Use

These conditions govern access to and use of the website. Browsing content or submitting a search means you accept them. Do not continue using the service if you disagree with any term.

NO FCRA USE. This privately operated website has no government affiliation. Neither it nor its advertising partners supplies a service for credit, employment, insurance, tenant, or other screening regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). The resource points visitors to Luce County and Michigan record channels. It is neither a private investigation firm nor a consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference site, independent from every government body. It does not hold official criminal records and cannot retrieve records, perform official checks, or submit documents for a visitor.

Its role is to identify the Luce County Sheriff, district and circuit courts, Michigan State Police Criminal Justice Information Center, and Michigan Public Sex Offender Registry as distinct record sources, while also providing access to outside research tools.

2. Rules for Using This Site

By using the service, you agree not to:

  • Use the service in violation of federal, Michigan, or local law
  • Harass, threaten, or stalk a person with information found here
  • Rely on site content for hiring, housing, credit, or insurance decisions
  • Try to break into our systems or gain access you are not supposed to have
  • Run bots, scrapers, or automated tools against our pages
  • Interfere with the service or another visitor's access

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

Information obtained here or through a linked tool may not be used to stalk, threaten, harass, intimidate, or discriminate. Michigan law places special limits on misuse of Michigan Public Sex Offender Registry data. MCL 28.730 bars conduct against a listed person that would otherwise be unlawful. Registry access supports public safety, not vigilantism or discriminatory blacklisting.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and do not create consumer reports, credit reports, or background checks. Our advertising partners do not turn this service into a lawful screening product. You may not use information from this website or a linked tool to:

  • Decide whether to hire or fire someone
  • Screen potential renters or housing applicants
  • Judge creditworthiness or set insurance premiums
  • Determine who qualifies for licenses, permits, or government programs
  • Do anything else that falls under FCRA rules

A check for an FCRA-regulated purpose must come from an authorized, compliant provider. ICHAT is the Michigan public criminal-history product, but a user remains responsible for choosing a legally proper process.

5. No Legal Advice

Site content is general information, not legal advice. Only a licensed Michigan attorney can advise how a charge, conviction, warrant, or set-aside rule applies to a particular situation.

6. No Warranties

Everything on this site is provided "as is." We do not guarantee that:

  • The information here is accurate, complete, or current at any given time
  • The site will stay up and running without interruptions
  • Our pages are free of errors, bugs, or security holes
  • Results from our partner search tools will be thorough or accurate

Charges, dismissals, set-asides, and corrections can change a public record. Gaps and delays are possible. Nothing published here is an official statement from a sheriff, court, or Michigan agency.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links lead to sheriff pages, court portals, Michigan agencies, legal resources, and outside search services that we do not control. Their terms, content, data practices, prices, and availability are their responsibility. Review their conditions before use.

8. Intellectual Property

Text, graphics, logos, and code belong to Luce County Criminal History or its content partners. Written permission is required before copying, modifying, distributing, or creating derivative material.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the greatest extent permitted by law, we disclaim liability for damages arising from use of the website or reliance on information supplied here or by a linked service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, demands, proceedings, legal fees, and related costs caused by your use of the service or violation of these terms.

11. Governing Law

Michigan law governs these terms. A dispute tied to use of the website must be brought in a court with jurisdiction in Michigan.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these terms. A revision takes effect when the updated text is posted here.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be limited or terminated at any time, for any reason, without advance notice.

14. Severability

If one provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the rest remain effective. The affected language will be narrowed only as much as needed to make it enforceable.

15. Questions

Questions about these terms may be submitted through the Contact page.
